We believe in transparency. Here's exactly how Starverse handles your data.
Last updated: March 29, 2026
1. Introduction
Starverse ("we", "our", or "the Service") is a web application that helps developers manage and organize their GitHub starred repositories. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
Via GitHub OAuth, we receive your GitHub username, email address, profile avatar URL, and GitHub user ID.
Repository Data
Metadata about your starred repos: name, owner, description, language, star/fork counts, dates, and README content (on-demand).
User-Generated Data
Custom tags, collections, and organizational preferences you create within Starverse.
AI API Keys (BYOK)
Optional API keys for OpenAI, Gemini, or OpenRouter — encrypted at rest with AES-256.
3. How We Use Your Information
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on Supabase with strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies — your data is isolated and only accessible to you.

7. Your Rights
We are committed to GDPR-friendly data practices. If you have questions about your data rights, please contact us.
9. Children's Privacy
Starverse is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
